Let’s be honest; it has been a rough year. Everyone has been impacted by the ranging and ever-changing turbulence of 2020 – a year that thus far has been largely defined by challenges and setbacks. Though our emotions and experiences are unique, our collective conscience will forever remember 2020. Throughout the chaos, heartbreak and loss, there is also hope. For me, this year will be marked by inspiration and gratefulness. I have the enviable position of seeing nonprofits around the country respond, adapt and fight to relentlessly serve their communities.
Many Delta Dental Community Care Foundation partners have demonstrated their ability to change the world, regardless of what is thrown at them. On this blog, you have read about how we are approaching grantmaking in the face of unprecedented crises and the stories of what nonprofits are facing. We will continue to highlight our partners and their work, but today we wanted to share something a bit different: the hopeful gratitude we are hearing from our tireless and selfless network of changemakers.
The thank you notes we receive from our partners may come addressed to the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, but they are meant for you – Delta Dental’s team members around the nation, the Delta Dental Provider Network (the largest in the country) and our millions of customers and enrollees. Our impact is a collective one. Together, we are changing the world, and I am so proud to share some of that with you. Thank you for being a part of the Delta Dental family and joining us in our mission to build caring, resilient communities.
“…[Primary Care Coalition] serve[s] over 32,000 low-income adults and children not eligible for federal or state health care programs. MCares and CFK are the last resort access to care for many of our neighbors experiencing vulnerability. It is crucial that we are able to maintain their access to care, even as the evolving COVID-19 situation causes rapid changes to clinical protocols and community needs. By supporting our general operating funds, your grant helps ensure we can respond quickly to these changing needs. Thank you for making this responsiveness possible!”Primary Care Coalition, Silver Spring, Maryland
“Thank you for Delta Dental’s recent gift in support of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). During these unprecedented times, the university’s top priority is to ensure the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Delta Dental’s generous donation to the Emergency Grant Fund will help students who are especially impacted by COVID-19.”California State University, Dominguez Hills
“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Delta Dental. As we weather this storm together, it’s reassuring to know that we have partners such as yourself who understand the communities that we serve and the challenges that our participants face.”Mary’s Center, Washington, D.C.
“On behalf of the NAACP Board of Directors, Staff and our 2,200 units who serve hundreds of thousands of people across the country, we thank Delta Dental, Inc., for your kind donation of $100,000.00… in support of our critical ongoing work to eradicate race-based discrimination. I also extend appreciation for publicly standing with us to denounce racism and for your commitment to do your part in dismantling it. Together we create change. Now, we must boldly demand justice and set ourselves squarely on course for a better, more equitable and inclusive tomorrow. With this contribution, and your corporate commitment to social responsibility, we will indeed move forward step by step towards equal justice for all.”NAACP
“Thank you so, so much for your kind donation! What an amazing way to end the week here at SF Pride. It is through the support of allies like Delta Dental, that we are able to continue providing connection and visibility to our wonderful communities. Especially, as you mention, in a strange and challenging year like this one is, your support goes very, very far.”San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride
“To have the opportunity to be recognized as a Delta Dental Student Leader is an honor, and there are no words to accurately describe the depths of my appreciation. The monetary award will allow me to focus more on my endeavors in my general practice residency and in giving back to the community.”Katherine Ong, Student Leadership Award recipient
“…Because of you, we can respond to this current unprecedented crisis.”Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
